Strange problem while tracking UPS packages with reused tracking numbers
I am glad(!) that I am not the only one who is waiting for a UPS delivery which was already delivered to someone else long time ago.
Worse Than Failure – UPS reusing old tracking numbers!
According to their tracking system which I can define as stupid and useless, some guys in Germany are enjoying what is supposed to be inside the package since more than two years ago. Good for them!!! 🙂 ( I am expecting to receive it this week before the Easter weekend (I hope!) )
Although it makes sense that their system reuse the tracking #s after some time, they should also be getting rid of the information that is tied to them in order to avoid ambiguities. I am just a normal user and I don’t care if they use tracking numbers again and again. I appreciate the whole logistics and information systems that companies like UPS, DHL or FedEx etc. implement which probably requires big investment in all senses and as long as they deliver what they suppose to deliver on time they should be ok. But as today the UPS tracking system did not help me at all. I was hoping to see if they have published some estimated delivery time or so but all I get is some fuzzy info referring to a delivery realised in another country…
Hopefully, I will receive everything on time but I would be expecting that UPS would take care of this issue until next time!
