…a reader named …

Since several years the creation of French artists Philippe Dupuy and Charles Berberian: Monsieur Jean has became one of my favourite comics !

I am a keen ‘ fan since childhood and I first heard about this anti-hero while I was living in Paris, thanks to my brother who suggested me to read it ! Probably he was thinking that the similarities between me and Monsieur Jean were evident and this was a manner to show me the light !! … and I saw the light !! 🙂

My appreciation reached to such a level that during a comics’ fair I made a queue in order to get my copy of “Diario de un album” signed ! Here is the proof ! I am the reader named Ogo !

Waiting impatiently to get a signature : Some might take it equal to Beckham frenzy. Beware !! We are talking about Monsieur Jean which is about life and for ones who live it with great seriousness like a squirrel, for example as in the poetry of Nazim Hikmet .

As the tandem Dupuy and Berberian are wise and harmonious enough to reach to 6th volume of Monsieur Jean that they create together, their stories involving a fine observation of daily life, told and drawn with great sense of humour and simplicity, keep the highly contagious aspect of their work.

Last known victim is my cousin, another fan on the way to convert into a Monsieur Jean while he is getting closer to 30 years old club. He is digesting the adventures frame by frame in the parisien geography that he is sharing with our anti-hero , as he starts to see the light. (or could it be the darkness for some !! ) I also applied harsh propaganda methods on a friend, who spent several days with us . He seemed to receive the message ! I am wishing him the best !

The first five volumes of Monsieur Jean were published through Humanoïdes Associés . The latest one, Inventaire avant travaux, is published by Dupuis. My favourite is Les nuits les plus blanches ! As I linked above, from the official page of Dupuy and Berberian , http://www.duber.net/ , you could obtain detailed information on their works that are translated and published in different languages.

You could buy Monsieur Jean books from FNAC.FR

Someone is sleeping with Winona Ryder

Comic artist and writer, Edgar Cantero has a very interesting blog !

He is noting down his dreams and then publishing them on Sleeping with Winona Ryder. His dreams sometimes involve an unheard country called Nueva Cicutermia in Madagascar or the Apocalypse itself. Sometimes he is having existential conversations with 911 cops or he is into blood synthesizing business with Jennifer Lopez who takes part in his dream as guest star !! In his own words this is rather a literary project than a blog ! In any case this a pretty creative attempt and worth considering !

Besides sleeping with Winona Ryder, he has also his personal page , Compañía Humorística Punk Ahoy! , where he is presenting his comic art and productions.

You can find info on himself and also on the actors (as they are seen on the right) collaborating in his projects !! (This page is in spanish ! but it is visual enough to let you find your way ! )

El Inversor de Andersen, a comic-book-zine in which he collaborated with Ferran Esteve is already sold in several book shops and I am hoping to get one this weekend, if and only if it is not sold out !! 😉

BrowserCam : Screen capture and Remote Access service for cross platform compatibility…..

An interesting service which promises providing you various screen captures taken on different browsers on different operating systems !

It can be handy for people who does not have the chance to do this and hope to have maximum accessibility !

There is a good range of browsers covering the most common operating systems, but it seems there is no possibility to test on any hand-held device like Pocket Pc and Palms..

They have a free trial also ! Nice intention !

Windmills for your house !!

Small sized windmills to generate electricity is one of the options for the ones who are living in the countryside. (and I hope they will become more common..)
Normally the mills were charging a set of batteries that were connected to your house network but the british company Windsave created a new solution which is directly plugged to the general power grid without needing to be connected to batteries.
They are proposing to help reduce the electricity bills and also promote environmentally friendly renewable energy sources.
